American Bushtits - Jericho Beach Park, BC
A pair of Bushtits make a nest in a Corkscrew hazel. Bushtits are one of only two birds here in Canada that make a hanging (pendulous) nest. It is interesting that they chose a branch that was snapped in a storm while the rest of the tree was still green and vibrant. If you notice, Another interesting fact about Bushtits is that the females have light yellow or white eyes (first bird) while males eyes are dark. This was shot at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver, BC.
