Blue-tailed Bee-eater - Laguna Phuket, TH

Just about sundown we made the back of Laguna Phuket where this beautiful Bee-eater was flycatching over the water. The sun had a great effect on the colors of the photo. Bee-eater are well named for their love of bees, wasps and hornets. They catch their prey on the wing and then take them back to a perch where they thrash their catch against a rock or branch to relieve them of their stinger.
