Common Kingfisher - Laguna Phuket, TH

There are so many of these birds that are captured by photographers in Europe and Asia. This was the only bird that we could find that would stand for a photo in the lagunas off of Bangtao Beach. The little bird would make little sorties to the water with a prize at the end of a little dip. Kingfishers are found in almost every continent with a huge number in South-east Asia. The largest being the Kookaburra of Australia.
