Another one for the record books. This Juvenile Curlew Sandpiper was found by Melissa "Birder Girl" here on the dyke at Delta's section of Boundary Bay. The bird came in a couple days ago and was extremely tired and spend the day roosting among the dried Eel grass. Today the bird was feeding happily with the Baird's Sandpipers along with some Least's and a couple of Buff-breasted Sandpipers who are rarities on their own! The bird was feeding just west of the pumphouse between 112th and 104th St. three diagnostic features are 1. the obvious large bill, 2, the white rump, 3. the very prominent white eye-brow (supercilium.)
