Eurasian Coot - Sakatagaike Park, JP

A relatively common bird up close has a great look with the red eye and smooth off white bill. There were several of these rails floating around in the pond at Sakatagaike Park in Narita. They are found throughout Asia, Europe, Northern Africa and Oceana in large groups and not so shy like their cousins.
