Great Blue Heron - Brydon Lagoon, BC
While these birds are very common around these part, they are still impressive when you get a good look at them. The bird was hunting off a stump in Brydon Lagoon, Langley. They are the largest heron in North America standing at 4 feet tall, but only weigh 5-6 pounds. There are some of these birds in Florida that are all white and called aptly Great White Herons. These are not to be confused with White Egrets which are closely related.
