Indigo Bunting - 10 Mile Pond, MO
This brilliant blue bird is a rarity in my neighborhood on the west coast but here in Missouri, it is more common than most birds. They are fantastic to watch and listen to. Their song is a buzzy set of notes that is very calming. If you can't see them, you will certainly be able to hear them. This bird has some close cousins including Lazuli's Bunting and Painted Bunting which are also very colorful.
