Javelina - Estero Llano Grande, TX

During a walk through the tropical section of Estero Llano Grande we found a family of these wire haired Peccary. Javelina's are a very localized in the US to South Texas and Southern Arizona. They are also called Collared Peccary, which are not directly related to the pig family. They have a common ancestor, but the Peccary is from the Americas where the pig family is from the Eastern Hemisphere.​
