The little cormorant is among the smallest in the world at only 22 inches head to tail. It is only slightly larger than the pygmy cormorant by an inch or two. They are very gregarious and usually perch in groups, especially during breeding season. The original name of these little guys was Hydrocorax which translated from Latin is Water-Hydro, Crow-corax. We were on our way to the bird sanctuary in Bang Khun Sai and made a stop in the fields just shy of the coast and found this little fisherman. It was also notably the only location we found Pratincole.
