Little Egret - Wat Mahathat, TH

A little egret was not impressed with our sudden arrival and moved up into the tree to get a better look at the new visitors that were too close. This member of the heron family is very similar to the New World's Snowy Egret with some very subtle differences. Check out this wonderful site for better details on the two birds. Our bird was alongside the temples at Wat Mahathat in one of the smaller interior ponds.
