One of the 2 species of chickadees that you can find in Colorado. This little guy with the white racing stripe along the eyebrow is a Mountain Chickadee. You usually can hear them before you see them with a very thin and weak sounding chickadee call. They are very hardy bird spending winters in the mountains with the snow, hunting among the crevices for insects tucked away for the winter. The also spend some time gobbling up seeds that their friendly neighborhood bird watchers leave out.
