Ring-necked Duck - Lost Lagoon, BC
Along the south edge of Stanley Park's Lost Lagoon, is and area that the ducks and geese like to spend some time looking for free hand outs. Once in a while, a duck that doesn't usually fit the bill, "all pun intended" makes a home there for the winter as well. Just like this ring-billed duck who finds his food by diving. A little advice for those of you that do feed the ducks and geese, please use whole grains like wheat and whole oats. bread can cause issues in the long term for our friends because it doesn't give them the nutrients they need.
