Ring-necked Pheasant - Wheatland County, AB
On a country road in Wheatland County in the early spring a Pheasant crossed the road and made his way into the snow covered field. All of the Ring-necked pheasants you see in North America were released at some point. Some more recently than others. They have been considered as have established breeding populations for sometime now but it is not unusual for them to be released as game birds yearly.
