Long light, drift wood and a thoughtful Savannah Sparrow make for a good shot one spring evening along the ferry jetty out of Tsawwassen. We have these little yellow-browed sparrows year round along the coast but this was taken in April during migration for these guys. A good deal of grassland birds travel up the coast and find spits of land to refuel their stomachs on their way north. The Jetty is a great place to find unusual migrants.
