Spectacled Owl - Gatun Locks
On a trip to Panama, I stopped just after crossing the Gatun Locks causeway and stepped into the forest just a couple hundred meters up the road. During my trek along a dirt road, I heard very excited frogs singing from 50 feet away through the thick palms. To my surprise the frogs were singing from up in the trees and a bigger surprise was, they were Toucans!! The big-billed birds were very excited about something! It turns out, it was our friend here, a Spectacled Owl.
