Summer Tanager - Curteis Point, BC
A beautiful crimson bird has spent the winter on Vancouver Island near the Swartz Bay ferry terminal on a little side road with an amazing view. If I had to winter in Canada, I would pick the very same location. Summer Tanagers are not usually found this far north and absolutely not in the winter months. We had a male spend the winter in Vancouver several years ago as a juvenile bird. Is is possible that they are the same bird?
