Our songster of the West Coast Rain Forests. This bright and cheerful little wood warbler is heard singing in the early summer in the mountains on the north and east of Vancouver. The bird is named for the famous Ornithologist John Kirk Townsend who made a trip out the Rockies and the West coast. Several of his finds were sent back to John James Audubon himself. This was taken on the trail that runs below Cypress Mountain on the north side of Vancouver, BC.
