White Wagtail - Takarada, JP

In a field along the valley in Takarada just east of Tokyo a group of White Wagtails and one Japanese Wagtail were following behind a plow tilling the soil. The hungry birds were taking advantage of the insects being brought to the surface. Wagtails are a diverse species with representatives all across Eurasia and Africa. They are named well for the way that the pump their tail up and down almost at all times.
