Wilson's Snipe - Blaney Bog, BC
This handsome fella was all puffed up to look good for the ladies. He was winnowing away on the edge of the swamp and flying low over the grass carrying on all the way. Wilson's snipe are considered part of the shorebird family but are rarely found on the beach. You can find them skulking along the edges probing for invertebrates or sunning in an inconspicuous location. This Snipes latin name is derived from the latin "delicate hen"
