You can find this Scrub-jay in the dry mountainous regions of the four corner states and down through central Mexico. They have a couple cousins on the west coast and one in Florida. Scrub-jays are part of the corvid family and are considered to be one of the smartest birds around. They stash acorns and other goodies remembering up to 200 locations and how long they have been there. This was taken in the morning at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
