Yellow-billed Cardinal - Mahaiula, HI
Even though this looks similar to a Northern Cardinal and named because of the red head but in truth they are part of the Tanager family. They are originally from southern Brazil and area. It was thought that this beautiful bird was thought to have escaped in 1960 and now is naturalized to the big island of Hawaii. This bird was looking for crumbs along the beach on Mahaiula Bay.
