Welcome

The Bird Blogger is hosted by avid birder Michael Klotz. Michael has spent a lifetime studying and following birds in many regions around the globe. His life list is now over an impressive 900 species.  Over the years, Michael has become an accomplished photographer and features many of his photos on The Bird Blogger website.

We welcome you to our site and encourage you to visit the Resource Page and Blog Posts regularly where you can find what you need to go birding.  The Bird Blogger is an interactive site and we look forward to receiving your comments and suggestions.

Michael's goal is to promote conservation by saving tracts of land in crucial areas where birds are critically endangered. The bird that is currently of most interest is the Araripe Manakin whose entire population lives within a 28 km2 area in the north east corner of Brazil. That is an area no bigger than the island of Manhattan. The Bird Blogger and it's supporters will be looking for land to purchase in this protected area to ensure that the critical habitat is protected. We welcome your help in this goal.

Come back and see us often.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Please visit Michael's Gallery page to see a complete library of his photographic work and if you are in Vancouver, BC, please have a look if you would like a guided tour.
