Anhinga - Boynton Beach, FL
This very unique bird is commonly referred to as a snake bird because it typically swims with its body submerged and only its "S" bent neck sticks out of the water very much resembling a snake. The use that very pointy bill to stab fish in the tropical and sub-tropical waters from as far north as Texas and Arkansas to the very southern tip of Brazil. They are commonly seen sunning themselves like cormorants to dry off and make flight easier.
