Greater Antillean Grackle - Varadero, CU
This is the only blackbird in Cuba with the "V" Shaped tail. It is similar to the Great-tailed Grackle but some what smaller. The other bird that looks the same in Cuba is the Cuban Blackbird, which has a flat tail. This handsome male was courting a female who seemed to want nothing to do with his advances. Isn't that the way most of the time. This photo was just outside the Varahicacos Ecological Reserve on the Varadero Peninsula.
