Northern Waterthrush - McNeil Lake, BC - On the way to Mahood Lake, there was a very birdy marsh area along the north side of McNeil Lake. While pishing for a redstart, this curious fellow popped out of the greenery and eyed me up for a good minute or two. It was the second waterthrush I got to see that day which is rare for my normal area so it was a treat to get a shot of him. Unlike most warblers, these birds spend some time on the ground in the wet margins of lakes and swamps and are somewhat secretive. Michael Klotz - www.TheBirdBlogger.com
