Western Wood-Pewee - Pritchard, BC
Hunting around a Saskatoon Berry bush was where I found this vocal flycatcher. The "Veer" is somewhat unmistakable and can be heard for some distance. This was along the gravel road on the West side of the Thompson River just out of Pritchard. It is somewhat dry and just in the foothills. Lots of buggies for these guys to bring home to the kids. The gray "vest" these birds have is a good indicator of which flavor of flycatcher, where as some of the family can only be told by VERY small almost imperceptible traits or by song.
